Nació en Navia el 25 deseptiembre de 1817. Murió en Madrid el 12 de febrero de 1901". Fue financiado con una colecta encabezada por Rafael Calzada y Antonio López Oliveros. El poeta aparece sentado en un banco, en una expresión candorosa y bastante realista."
