The 25-pounder gun was the most widely used piece of artillery by Commonwealth forces during World War II. Versatile, reliable and appreciated by its servants, the gun could fire 25-pound projectiles at a range of approximately 12 kilometers, 12 times per minute at most.

A 25-pounder cannon is displayed right outside the Juno Beach Center in memory of the men of the Royal Canadian Artillery who fought and gave their lives in World War II.

This cannon was donated to the Juno Beach Center by the Defense Forces of Ireland thanks to Garth Webb, founder of the Center, for whom it was of great importance because he had landed with the 14th Field Artillery Regiment on D-Day.
