Many cozy streets in the old University City Lund. The old buildings have different stories.
This pretty half-timbered house was formerly divided into apartments for students. In 1829, a tragic murder took place in the building, when the student Jacob Wilhelm Blomdah murdered a fellow student Andreas Emanuel Landén. Both studied theology. On April 16, 1830, Jacob Wilhelm Blomdahl was executed by beheading at the city's execution site.
Ever since the murder took place, the house has been called for Locus Peccatorum or Syndernas Hus (Sinner’s House). The house has later been used as a culture house.
It is nice to visit Lund, as it mainly consists of the old buildings that belong to the University. There are no cars in the city center, but many cyclists. And when you walk around the city, you can hear conversations in many different languages, as many foreign tourists come to the city.
That a murder took place in one of the houses is a bit unreal.
