Schloss Augustusburg am Abend - Brühl, NRW, Germany - Puzzles in the Real World on Waymarking.com

DE: Als Bewohner des Rheinlandes kennt man das ab 1725 im Rokoko-Stil errichtete Brühler Schloss Augustusburg, welches seit 1984 zu den Welterbestätten zählt, sicherlich. Als Bewohner der Stadt kommt man auch oft am Schloss vorbei und hat auch schon das eine oder andere Mal Bilder davon gemacht. Als relativ neue Waymarker in Brühl haben wir uns im letzten Jahr etwas öfter mit der Geschichte des Schlosses und seinem Erbauer, dem Kurfürsten Clemens-August beschäftigen können und so eine besondere Verbindung zum Ort knüpfen können. Die vielen verschiedenen Kategorien beim Waymarking beleuchteten dabei auch immer eine andere Facette, die es zu entdecken galt.

Als dann im Forum über diese Kategorie diskutiert wurde, haben wir das Puzzle von Augustusburg (#227269 von Lais-Puzzle) wieder aus dem Keller geholt und die 500 Teile erneut zusammengesetzt. Für ein Foto haben wir uns dann abends kurz vor Schließung der Zugänge auf die Promenade gestellt und einige Bilder gemacht.

Zum Schloss: Errichtet wurde das Brühler Schloss Augustusburg ab 1725 im Auftrag von Kurfürst Clemens-August unter der Leitung der Architekten Johann Konrad Schlaun. Viele weitere Baumeister wie Balthasar Neumann, der das prunkvolle Treppenhaus entwarf, waren bis zur Fertigstellung des Schlosses im Jahr 1768 tätig. Bis zur Besetzung des Rheinlandes durch Frankreich im Jahr 1794 wurde es von den Kurfürsten als Sommerresidenz genutzt, nach dem Abzug der französischen Besatzung im Jahr 1822 verwendete das preussische Königshaus das Schloss zur Repräsentation. Nach 1949 war Schloss Augustusburg das Gästehaus für die Bundesregierung.

When this category was discussed in the forum, we got the Augustusburg puzzle (#227269 from Lais-Puzzle) from the basement again and put the 500 parts back together. In the evening shortly before the entrances closed, we stood on the promenade for a photo and took some pictures.

About the castle: The Augustusburg castle in Brühl was built from 1725 on behalf of Elector Clemens-August under the direction of the architect Johann Konrad Schlaun.
