Photos are from August 2021. The small sign inside the school room reads, "To prepare students for the future, Harford County schools changed, shaping today's education. During planting and harvest, children from farming families needed to leave school. In 1905, there were 83 one-room school houses each serving a small farm neighborhood. As the economy changed, children attended school more often to take advantage of new opportunities. By 1920, there were only 38 one room schools as well as many larger schools serving farms and towns."
