This marker, at the north end of a small open-air chapel, celebrates the memory of donors to the cemetery perpetual fund and gives a little history on the cemetery. The full text of the marker is
EDDIE NEW HOME CEMETERY
This monument is in memory of A. L. (Monk) and Juanita Smyth for their generous donation to the Eddie New Home Cemetery Perpetual Fund and the cemetery improvements in 1985.
(History) In 1906, Russell Dobbs and Charles McCombs each gave one acre of land to the New Home Cemetery. This land was designated to be used only for burial purposes.
