This large black granite World War I memorial is on the west side of Pond Creek Cemetery. The memorial includes a tall flagpole, and is engraved with the names of many veterans. The memorial was set in 1921 by the Pond Creek Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and makes reference to the "Great War," with no inkling of the horrors to follow in the next few decades.
