This small community, just off the Chisholm Trail, was founded in part by Russian settlers who brought seeds of hardy winter wheat that became an important crop in the area; the town was named in their honor. This small cemetery is not quite a mile east of town, on the south side of Keowee Road. There is currently no sign for the cemetery, but the cemetery is well tended and is still active. There is a small "Tomb of the Unknown Soldier" near the pavilion on the west side of the cemetery.
