NL In 2016 besloten ik en mijn vriendin om te gaan verhuizen van ons appartement in Alphen aan den Rijn naar een mooie woning ergens in een dorp. We hadden in Lopik een erg mooie woning gezien en na twee keer kijken besloten we het om te kopen. Het was erg stressvol om ons appartement te verkopen en nog meer om de financiering van onze nieuwe woning rond te krijgen. Ik had al een tijdje besloten om met haar te gaan trouwen maar het leek me heel fijn om deze stressvolle periode af te sluiten en om meteen een mooie herinnering aan de nieuwe woning te krijgen om haar daar te vragen.

Ik had a wat voorbereidingen gedaan, in Montfoort een verlovingsring gekocht en in de auto verstopt. Ik had ook in Montfoort een bos bloemen besteld en die zouden bezorg worden bij het notaris kantoor. Op de bewuste dag, 16 september 2016, gingen we eerst naar de notaris om de koop te sluiten. Daar kreeg ze de bos bloemen (de werknemers van de notaris dachten dat ik haar daar zou vragen, maar dat was niet de bedoeling), en thuis in Lopik ben ik op mijn knieen gegaan en heb ik haar gevraagd. En het antwoord was ja, gelukkig! Wij zijn op 23 juni 2017 getrouwd en nog steeds erg gelukkig samen in Lopik.
ENG In 2016, me and my girlfriend decided to move from our apartment in Alphen aan den Rijn to a beautiful house somewhere in a village. We had seen a very nice house in Lopik and after looking twice we decided to buy it. It was very stressful selling our apartment and even more stressful getting financing for our new home. I had already decided to marry her for a while, but it seemed very nice to end this stressful period and to immediately get a nice memory of the new home to ask her there.

I had made some preparations, bought an engagement ring in Montfoort and hid it in the car. I had also ordered a bunch of flowers in Montfoort and they would be delivered to the notary's office. On the day in question, September 16, 2016, we first went to the notary to close the sale. There she received the bunch of flowers (the notary's employees thought I would ask her there, but that was not the intention), and at home in Lopik I got down on my knees and asked her. And the answer was yes, luckily! We got married on June 23, 2017 and still very happy together in Lopik.
