Ferdinand's Ice Cream Shoppe opened on September 24, 1948. It was originally located inside of Troy Hall until 1992 when Ferdinand's moved to its current location in the Food Quality Building. The ice cream and cheese (including the famous Cougar Gold) sold here is made onsite in the adjacent WSU Creamery using milk from the WSU Knott Dairy Center. There is a small eat in area but it is currently closed due to covid restrictions. There are a couple picnic benches outside. A short hallway to the left of the entrance leads to an observation room that overlooks the creamery and has video presentations about the creamery. It is open year-round excluding university holidays and has reduced operation for a period during the winter holiday break. Ferdinands is not typically open during the weekends but may have additional hours for home football games. Current hours of operation information:

The menu includes: 30-ounce canned cheese (8 year-round flavors and 2 seasonal flavors), milkshakes, malts, sodas, freezes, ice cream (cake cones, sugar cones, waffle cone and dish), "grabbers" (ice cream sandwiches), banana splits and sundaes, as well as coffee and espresso drinks. Menu
