Aunt Saar bridge
"This bridge is located in the Herengracht and spans the Reguliersgracht. The bridge, which has been here for centuries, has a relatively high ascent/descent percentage. The abutments are of brick, the arch of natural stone. The bridge is accessible to all types of traffic. On the side of the Herengracht, a stone has been placed in the quay wall to the left of the bridge with "Anno 1734" on it. The bridge was reinforced in 1980 with a new reinforced concrete span, but it kept its classic appearance.

The bridge only got its name in 2016, when the municipality of Amsterdam called on the population to submit names for anonymous bridges (bridges without an ascription). Aunt Saar stands for Sara Bachrach[1][2]/Sara Bacharach/Sara Bacherach (1887-1982), who for years had a flower stall on Rembrandtplein, with storage on Thorbeckeplein. In 1947 her thirty-five years of business was lavishly celebrated[3], although she spent much of her life in poverty. Moreover, as a Jewish woman she spent part of the Second World War in various concentration camps and lost a number of children and grandchildren there. She became an honorary citizen of Amsterdam. She was buried in the Jewish cemetery in Muiderberg."
