Die Burg Falkenstein ist eine hochmittelalterliche Höhenburg im Harz. Die Grundanlage wurde um die Mitte des 12. Jahrhunderts errichtet. In den nachfolgenden Jahrhunderten kam es immer wieder zu baulichen Veränderungen. Seit 1946 gibt es das Museum Burg Falkenstein.
Das Türportal ziert den Innenhof der Burganlage, wo sich sonst nur schlichte Türen und Eingänge befinden. Das Portal wird von einem Segmentgiebel gekrönt, in dessen Mitte sich drei Wappen befinden. Direkt über der holzernen Tür mit Glasaufbau befindet sich ein Löwenkopf. Rechts und Links der Tür kann man zwei Herzmuscheln finden.

Falkenstein Castle is a high medieval hilltop castle in the Harz Mountains. The basic system was built around the middle of the 12th century. In the following centuries there were repeated structural changes. The Falkenstein Castle Museum has existed since 1946.
The door portal adorns the inner courtyard of the castle complex, where otherwise only simple doors and entrances are located. The portal is crowned by a segmented gable, in the middle there are three coats of arms. A lion's head is located directly above the wooden door with a glass structure. Two cockles can be found to the right and left of the door.
