University Railway Station can be found on University Road West in Edgbaston. It serves the University of Birmingham, Birmingham Women's Hospital, and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

University Station is an intermediary stop on the Cross-City Line which runs from Redditch to Lichfield via Birmingham New Steet.

The station has two platforms:
Platform 1 - trains to Birmingham
Platform 2 - trains to Redditch

The Station has the following facilities:
Ticket Office which is open at the following times:
Weekdays 07:00 - 20:00
Saturday 08:00 - 19:00
Sunday 10:00 - 16:00

At the above times staff are available to help

Accessibility:
Step -free access to the whole station (level access to Booking Hall, Lift access to both platforms, or 32 steps down to platform 1 (trains to Birmingham) and 31 steps to platform 2 (trains to Redditch, Doors to Booking Hall have a low-level button to open)

"University Railway Station serves the University of Birmingham, Birmingham Women's Hospital, and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with regular West Midlands Trains services operating on the Cross-City Line between Redditch and Litchfield. Trains from University Station run with great frequency; northbound services included two trains per hour to Four Oaks, two per hour to Litchfield City, two per hour to Lichfield Trent Valley, on per hour to Birmingham New Street only, and one per hour to Nottingham. Southbound services see three trains to Longbridge per hour, three per hour to Redditch, one per hour to Hereford, and one per hour to Cardiff Central.

Facilities at the station are good, with a large, covered waiting room, two automated ticket machines, and a staffed ticket office. Train running updates are provided on digital departure screens and automated announcements. University Station is fully step-free accessible, with level access to the ticket office and footbridge and lift access to the platforms." (visit link)
