On February 1, 1870, the hospital in Ängelholm was opened and when they got a care place for 40 öre / day and there were a total of 44 care places and the doctor was named Carl Johan Wendt. In 1926-27, the hospital was expanded with an Epidemic Hospital (now demolished) and a BB ward, which was closed down in 1999. In 1907, Ängelholm received its first X-ray machine.
