DE: Die 1857 errichtete Windmühle in der süddänischen Stadt Højer ist mit ihren sieben Böden und dem Keller die höchste Holländerwindmühle in Nordeuropa. Betrieben wurde die Getreidemühle von der Familie Roll von 1857 bis 1972. In den Jahren 1976 und 1977 restaurierte das Museum Sonderjylland die Mühle, kürzte die vier Windflügel aus Sicherheitsgründen für die Besucher von 25m auf 23m Durchmesser und richtete in der weiterhin funktionstüchtigen Mühle das Mühlen- und Marschmuseum ein.

Die Adresse der Mühle lautet Møllegade 13, 6280 Højer, Denmark. Besichtigt werden kann sie vom 1. April bis zum 31. Oktober in der Zeit von 10 bis 17 Uhr, Parkplätze sind in der Nähe der Mühle vorhanden. Der Eintrittspreis liegt bei 95 Dänischen Kronen, Kinder und Jugendliche bis 18 Jahre können die Mühle in Begleitung der Eltern kostenfrei besichtigen. Die steilen Treppen in der Mühle erfordern jedoch eine gute Beweglichkeit, so dass die Mühle für Gehbehinderte schwer zugänglich ist.

EN: The windmill, built in 1857 in the southern Danish town of Højer, is the tallest Dutch windmill in Northern Europe with its seven floors and basement. The flour mill was operated by the Roll family from 1857 to 1972. In 1976 and 1977 the Museum Sonderjylland restored the mill, shortened the four blades for safety reasons for visitors from 25m to 23m in diameter and set up the mill and marsh museum in the still functioning mill.

The address of the mill is Møllegade 13, 6280 Højer, Denmark. It can be visited from April 1st to October 31st from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., parking spaces are available near the mill. The entrance fee is 95 Danish kroner, children and young people up to the age of 18 can visit the mill free of charge when accompanied by their parents. However, the steep stairs in the mill require good mobility, so that the mill is difficult to access for people with reduced mobility.
