Hawley Cemetery, final rest to perhaps seven hundred and fifty souls, is about all that remains of the town of Hawley. The cemetery is still active and is well maintained. This World War II Memorial is near the center of the cemetery. The tall granite monument is accompanied by a flagpole. The inscription on the monument is
LEST WE FORGET
Let this be forever a constant reminder of how much we owe in liberty and freedom to those who gave so much in courage and sacrifice in World War II.
