EN: In February 1644, the Swedish Navy hunted Danish merchant ships, sank a large part of the Danish merchant fleet from Ribe in the Lister Tief near Rømø. The conquest of the Danish islands could be averted. The approximately 750kg cannons, which fired cannon balls weighing six pounds, were brought ashore after the ship was hijacked by 12 Danish merchant ships and then hidden.

It was not until 1932 that two of the cannons were set up on the cannon hill near the port of Havneby in memory of the sea battle in the Lister Tief, which took place in May 1644 between the Danes and Swedes. Today only a small sign in Danish reminds of the origin of the cannons.
