Zebulon is the county seat of Pike county Georgia. It is a small town with a around 1,200 residents. Two movies were filmed in town, Murder in Coweta County (Andy Griffith and Johnny Cash) and Tank (with James Garner).
Zebulon Georgia was named after Zebulon Pike, who was a war hero and explorer. He served as a US Army officer making the rank of brigadier general conducting two expeditions of the Louisiana Purchase Territory and from 1806-1807 he explored the the southwest along the edge of the northern Spanish-colonial settlements of New Mexico. After his expeditions he served in the War of 1812 until he was killed at the Battle of York in 1813.
