The Land Grant Act frescos cover the second floor lobby walls in Old Main. They depict President Lincoln with a student planting a tree and other scenes from the agricultural school.

The frescos are in the upper floor of the lobby of Old Main building. Access is permitted by the public when the building is open. This is normally during business hours. Parking is available in several decks around campus.

In honor of all Penn Staters who died serving their country
during World War II, the Old Main frescoes,
masterworks by Henry Varnum Poor commemorating the
Congressional Land Grant Act of 1862, arededicated to them,
to the seniors of 1932, 1944, 1945, and 1946 whose class gifts
made them possible, to Professors Harold E. Dickson '22,
J. Burn Holme, and Francis E. Hyslop Jr., who with
Ridge Riley '32 and Virginia Sykes Robers '46
were leaders for the frescoes project,
and to all Penn Staters who contibuted to the
successful war effort during the years 1941 through 1945.
