The Norm Petty Trio, featuring Norman Petty, his wife Vi and friend Jack Vaughn had a hit with Mood Indigo in 1954. Petty put the proceeds into an expanded recording studio. From there he recorded some of the earliest rock stars including Buddy Knox, Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly and the Crickets. The studio remains as it was in the 1950's.
