"A Binocular located on the new jetty, which allows you to admire the bay of Canche, you may have the joy of admiring a seal at low tide.

The Canche Bay National Nature Reserve (RNN87) is a national nature reserve located in the Hauts-de-France region. Listed in 1987, it occupies an area of ??505 hectares at the level of the Canche estuary, of which 465 hectares are in the public maritime domain.

The bay of Canche, because of its typical characteristics of the Picardy estuary and its richness in benthic fauna, has been the subject of numerous studies, in particular by the Laboratory of hydrobiology and ecotoxicology of the University of Lille I in the years 1980 to 1990.

Estuarine life is mainly linked to two parameters, the tide and the salinity, which vary constantly, but cyclically. The salinity increases slowly when one approaches the sea, and increases sharply, at the level of the Port of Etaple, to reach 32%. The natural sedimentation of the bay has been modified by the construction of dikes. "
