Translated from the above noted text:
The sculpture aims to freeze in time, using stone, the ripples that are created on the surface of the water when a pebble is thrown into it. Contrasting the fluidity of water with the rigidity of rock, the double-sided work evokes both the interior / exterior passage from turbulence to tranquility, as well as noise to silence. "The word, which is inscribed in stainless steel in the sculpture, represents the silence of the water just before a stone falls," explains Jean-François Maheux. In total, the stone structure was completed in 18 days. "In fact, I've been sculpting for 16 years and it takes those years to achieve what I've done," says the artist from Saint-George.
