Nobel laureate Sigrid Undset (1882-1949) lived in Bjerkebæk from 1919 to 1949. She awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature 1928. The house is now converted as a museum.
Bjergebæk was opened as a museum in 2007 and recreated as it looked in the 1930s.
In the museum you can see a writer's home and how Sigrid Undset had arranged herself. All furniture and paintings can be seen in the living rooms, bedrooms and study. The collections consist of 5,000 objects and photographs. Sigrid Undset's book collection of over 10,000 books is also in the museum.
