Le projet d’aménagement de la plaine inondable n’est qu’une des composantes de restauration et d’aménagement entreprises dans le bassin versant. En effet, la ville de Terrebonne a profité de l’urbanisation de la partie centrale du bassin versant, pour restaurer entièrement le ruisseau de Feu selon un nouveau tracé sur 2 kilomètres. Ainsi, le ruisseau de Feu est passé d’un cours d’eau rectiligne aux pentes abruptes sans bandes riveraines à un cours d’eau plus sinueux logé dans une emprise large de 35 à 100 mètres. Deux stations de pompage ont été construites pour retourner dans le cours d’eau une partie des eaux interceptées dans le réseau pluvial. Finalement, la portion nord du bassin versant composée d’une immense forêt humide offre un remarquable potentiel de conservation et de mise en valeur des milieux naturels.

The floodplaon development project is only one of the restoration and development components undertaken in the watershed. Indeed, the city of Terrebonne took advantage of the urbanization of the central part of the watershed, to completely restore the Ruisseau de Feu according to a new route over 2 kilometers. Thus, the Ruisseau de Feu went from a straight stream with steep slopes without riparian strips to a more winding stream housed in a 35 to 100 meters wide right-of-way. Two pumping stations were built to return some of the water intercepted in the stormwater system to the watercourse. Finally, the northern portion of the watershed composed of an immense humid forest offers remarkable potential for conservation and enhancement of natural environments.
