The Balsera or Sendón palace is located in the Asturian town of Avilés ( Spain ). Once a private residence, it is currently the headquarters of the Julián Orbón Municipal Conservatory of Music .
This palace was built at the beginning of the 20th century , probably 1917 , by the Pontevedra architect Antonio Palacios for Victoriano Fernández Balsera, a rich merchant from Aviles. The building "halfway between modernism and eclecticism" 2 is characterized by "an interesting play of ascending volumes, from the curved chamfer at the angle to the slender tower of historicist inspiration." 3
It is lavishly decorated and the interior is kept in perfect condition.
It has been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest with the category of Monument on October 3 , 1991
