"The palace of La Moral , or of the Navia Arango , or of the Marqués de Ferrera , is a palatial complex formed by two wings joined by a bayon arch that is located in the heart of the town of Luarca , capital of the Asturian council of Valdés ( Spain ) . It is a set of three buildings from the 16th and 18th centuries, linked by various passages. It consists of two L-shaped bodies and a chapel. It is currently used as a Library and House of Culture.
The oldest part is the southern section, with an irregular plan and structured on two floors. At the bottom is the primitive palace ( 15th - 16th century ). The tower (probably before the 13th century ) has undergone many reforms, losing its military character.
It has a façade with few decorative elements and a disorderly distribution of holes of various sizes. The access door is a semicircular arch , with voussoirs . Through a passage over a segmental arch , this body communicates with the north side. The north side was raised in the 18th century ; It has a rectangular plan and a two-story elevation, separated by a line of impost. The main facade presents a uniform distribution of holes and the only decorative element is the shield.
Connected to the north body is the chapel, also built in the 18th century. It has a single nave and is covered with a ribbed vault .
The factory is made of plastered masonry, except for the corners, fascia and framing of the openings. The cover of all the elements is based on slate slabs."
