Oceanário de Lisboa
"Starting tomorrow, April 7th, the Lisbon Oceanarium will have a new species, the human, as it will open its doors to the public, within the scope of the rules established during the second phase of deconfinement in Portugal .
“Visitors will be able to 'dive' again in the large central aquarium and travel across the Global Ocean to discover more than 500 species, in an experience that stimulates all the senses: from the joy of children, to the amazement of adults, from curious enthusiasm, to tranquility of a visit through the underwater world”, highlights a statement from the Oceanário.
Visitors will be able to enjoy the ‘Underwater Forests by Takashi Amano’ exhibition, which presents tropical forests through the largest ‘nature aquarium’ in the world, in a “relaxing and immersive experience, conducted by Rodrigo Leão's soundtrack”.
Another attraction is the artistic installation 'ONE – The Sea as you never felt it', inaugurated in 2020, by the artist Maya Almeida – “a tribute to the Ocean, which portrays a deep connection between Man and the sea, through an immersive work, with images made exclusively in Portugal”.
“With the arrival of good weather, long days and progressive lack of confinement, Parque das Nações is an excellent proposal for a complete program, allowing, in addition to visiting the Oceanário, leisure time by the river, in spaces such as the Garden das Ondas, or a scenic ride on the Telecabine. The Lisbon Oceanarium is open from Monday to Friday, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm (last entry at 7:00 pm). On the weekend, the Oceanário will temporarily change its hours, being open from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm – in compliance with the containment measures enacted under the current state of emergency”, said the statement."
