The town of Knaresborough is bounded on the west side of the town by the River Nidd and this bridge gives access to the south part of the town.
The bridge is a Historic England Grade II Listed Building.
"Bridge. Rebuilt 1779. Limestone. 2 segmental arches. Cutwaters, round on east (downstream) and pointed on west (upstream) sides, carried up as double pilasters with widened coping at flat parapet level.."
