Il sera adossé prochainement à huit éoliennes d'une hauteur de 91 mètres chacune et qui produiront en tout 6 400 MWh/an. « Nous avons pris du retard dans les phases de négociation avec les banques », avoue Aymeric Chollet, chargé de mission d'Eco Delta, avant d'ajouter que « les travaux éoliens démarreront le premier trimestre 2014 »et qu'en« 2015, est prévue l'extension du photovoltaïque ». Un an et demi après les premiers coups de pioche des entreprises locales (SMTP, Cap Bâtiments, Monte-Stello) en charge des travaux de démaquisage, terrassement et clôture, la ferme photovoltaïque de Meria est en production depuis septembre. Avec le complément éolien et l'extension du photovoltaïque, l'objectif est de faire fonctionner la totalité du parc courant 2015.
Une ferme solaire durable
« Coupler photovoltaïque et éolien est déjà assez rare, mais ce qui est novateur et unique en Europe, c'est de parvenir à mettre un stockage de deux énergies différentes sur un même site afin d'être en mesure de maintenir une production plate », précise Aymeric Chollet.
L'investissement de 12,1 ME a été financé par Eco Delta (fonds propres et emprunt Siemens Financial Services). La ferme solaire de Meria a été conçue et réalisée dans une optique de durabilité environnementale et agricole. Limitation du béton par implantation des panneaux à l'aide de vis au sol, préparation des terrains suivant la méthode « mulching » (gyrobroyage) et recyclage des panneaux.
Outre l'apport financier non négligeable pour des petites communes que procurent les différentes taxes, l'image d'une énergie propre, stockable et renouvelable est en parfaite adéquation avec la fibre environnementale de la microrégion.
