The two Community Rooms at St. Mary de Ballaugh (New Church) on Station Road in the village of Ballaugh were dedicated on 12 March 2002 by the Bishop of Sodor and Man, the Right Reverend Noel Jones, CB, BA.
The dedication of the Community Room's by Bishop Jones is recorded on a plaque next to the entrance to the rooms at the west end of the church. The full text on the plaques is shown below:

Noël Debroy Jones CB QHC (25 December 1932 – 28 August 2009)Noel Jones was an Anglican bishop who was the Bishop of Sodor and Man in the Church of England between 1989 and 2003.
He was ordained in the Church in Wales as a deacon in 1955 and as a priest in 1956.
Military serviceIn 1962, Noel Jones joined the Royal Navy as a chaplain and was deployed to Brunei and Borneo. While in the Royal Navey he completed a commando course prior to service in Aden with 42 Commando in 1967. He also served in Saudi Arabia and at the Ministry of Defence before becoming Chaplain of the Fleet and Archdeacon for the Royal Navy. On taking up the latter post he was made a Companion of the Order of the Bath.
Episcopal ministryNoel Jones ledt the Royal Navy in 1989 and was appointed Bishop of Sodor and Man. During his time as bishop he also had an ex officio seat in the Legislative Council and was a member of the Department of Education and the War Pensions Committee as well as being a trustee of King William's College. He stood down as Bishop in 2003.
Noel Jones died on 28 August 2009.
