Old Swede, by this name the citizens and visitors of the Hanseatic city of Wismar are familiar with the oldest town house in the city. The Gothic house was built around 1380, presumably as a commercial and industrial building on behalf of a wealthy merchant.
On December 29, 1878, Mr. Frähmke opened his pub "Zum Alten Schweden" in the southern half of the building.
After closing in 1977, it is reopenend since renovation in the 90ies.
