Richard Gloyne’s grave is difficult to access without a four-wheel drive over rough ground when the Kanyaka creek is running although it is only 100 metres east of the road to Hawker. The Blackjack Hotel once stood on the west side of the highway opposite the grave and has now virtually disappeared. There are two theories how he died - one that he fell from the hotel balcony and the other that he hanged himself.
