"For more than 100 years, the Gille Boer family has been farming on this land. There is a great connection with this land and its surroundings. The challenge of making this company fit into its environment is a very beautiful one. This polder is the first reclaimed (due to drainage by mills) environment that was financed by the government. The polder ran from Hilligersberg to Zoetermeer. As a result, the Rotte lies above the area instead of sunk in the area. The Lansingerland farm is 4 meters below sea level. The meadow mills of our farm still have a very large and important function to keep the polder dry."
