Amado Nervo is fondly remember here in Tepic. His childhood home is preserved and serves as a Museum.
This apparently bronze sculpture of him is life-sized and depicts him casually sitting on a wall with his legs crossed. One arms rests on his lap while the other braces the wall. The figure is dressed in a business suit.
The plaque reads:
"EN RECOGNOMIENTO PERENNE AL POETA UNIVERSAL
AMADO NERVO
CXXV ANNIVERSARIO DE SU NATALICIO
AUGOSTO 27 DE 1995"
which translates to
"In perennial recognition of the universal poet
Amado Nervo
125th Anniversary of his birth
August 27, 1995"
