The monument consists of a slate table behind which is a large semicircular panel, made by the Asturian sculptor and painter Goico Aguirre, closely linked to Luarca, which stages a meeting of 15th century shipmasters. On the canvas of the wall there are 14 panels of Talavera ceramic, made from the watercolors of Gerardo Ortiz Alfau, which narrate historical and legendary episodes in the history of the Villa de Luarca from the 9th to the 19th century. The set is completed with some engraved verses by the poet José María Uncal that evoke the memory of the victims of the sea as well as a cannon and an anchor.
