"We are a group of 8-14 adults and 3-4 children who meet once a month in Driebergen for a Quaker service. We were looking for a location that was easily accessible by public transport from Utrecht and surrounding villages and we found it in Driebergen. From the silence we open ourselves to the common experience of the Inner Light, which is active in every person. The communal silence is the means for us to deepen and to search for Guidance in close connection with each other, whether we call it 'the Light', 'that of God in everyone' or 'the Universe'. This Guidance manifests itself not only in ourselves, in one's own soul, but also through the contributions of others. Anyone who feels called to share a prompting can arise to succinctly articulate, read, or sing the prompting.

In addition, one of us occasionally prepares a theme to share with us in a 'conversation from the Silence'. After a short text introducing the theme, we then exchange from the silence what this subject evokes for each of us, and what our personal experience with it is."
