According to the governmental webpage (Staatsbosbeheer):

"The Biesbosch is an adventurous maze of rivers, with islands with willow forests and capricious creeks with crystal clear water. You can walk and cycle along the edges of the area. But the wet, rugged nature of this swamp is best experienced from the water, in a small boat or canoe.

Silently paddling through the narrowest creeks, bending under low branches, you experience nature from the water surface. Kingfishers fly by, a harrier hunts among the reeds and maybe even an osprey or a beaver makes an appearance. In the Biesbosch you are one with nature.

The Biesbosch is not only a national park, but also the largest freshwater tidal area in Europe. Ebb and flow shaped the landscape here for 600 years. A rugged wilderness, where you will find silence and become silent."

Background:
"De Biesbosch National Park is a protected nature reserve located in the provinces of North Brabant and South Holland between the rivers Boven-Merwede and Amer. The area is intersected by the Nieuwe Merwede. De Biesbosch National Park is the largest freshwater tidal area in Europe. This means that there is an ebb and flow. As a result, the area is constantly in motion, which is unique for a freshwater delta. De Biesbosch has been a national park since 1994 and is on the list of protected nature reserves. The area is a maze of rivers, jagged creeks and islands."
