There are entrances to the park on London Road, Castle Street and King Street from Victoria Street.

The park has a small 5 aside football pitch, bowling green, basketball and tennis courts and a a children's play area.
The play area is located adjacent to the pavilion. It is surrounded by grass verges and has safety chippings under the play apparatus that includes swings, slide, climbing apparatus, bouncing and rocking equipment. There are picnic tables in this area.

The cenotaph and a pit wheel memorial are located in the grounds of the park.

"The remains of an ice house were discovered in the park and would probably have been used by the Hall.
Ice houses are buildings used to store ice throughout the year before the invention of refrigerators.
