Bodø Cathedral is the largest church in Bodø and was completed in 1956. It is a long church with a basilica shape built in concrete and in a functionalist style. Designed by architects Gudolf Blakstad and Herman Munthe-Kaas. There are three stained glass windows by the glass artist Borgar Hauglid at the church. The cathedral has Norway's largest organ, with 5050 pipes. On the outside, the western front is adorned with a large Christ figure - "Christus Victor", and on the south wall a sculpture by the poet priest, Petter Dass.
There is room for 890 people in the cathedral.
The cathedral replaces the former church in the town, which was destroyed by the Germans' attack on 27 May 1940, when large parts of Bodø burned down.
The bell tower stands on its own and contains a chime.
