Just west of Clewiston, Florida on the north side of U.S. Highway 27/State Road 80 is a lonely chimney in a cow pasture. No known history of this chimney is available but it appears to be from a Florida Cracker homestead based on its construction and design. It is constructed primarily of broken rock and rock pieces. There is a square area composed of brick that appears to be a cooking hearth. Above the brick area there are crescent areas formed in the stone chimney indicating it may have been attached to a log cabin.
The chimney is not accessible from the road due to the barbwire fencing for the cattle in the pasture and a large drainage ditch. It is located on private property. Photos can be taken from the road right-of-way.
