The Adler Planetarium was the first planetarium built in the Western hemisphere and is the oldest extant today. It was constructed in 1930 and is currently one of the museums in Chicago's museum campus. Aside from having multiple theaters and exhibits, a renovation in 1999 has brought the exhibits up-to-date, and the views of Chicago and the lake from the planetarium are spectacular.
