Czech Republic is a small country in the middle of Europe. Approximately 10 million people live in this country. There are over 6 million cars registered in the Czech Republic (as of 2021). Only about 7000 (valid for 2021) of this number are electric cars. There are about 700 public charging stations for these electric cars. The stations are mostly located in large cities, near shopping centres or local authorities.
In total, about 70% of these stations are managed by the three largest electricity distributors in the country - CEZ (

visit link) . There are companies with a smaller number of stations - e.g. MOL (

visit link) .

The PRE company uses own network a transformer stations for electricity distribution. These are simple ground-floor buildings where PRE installs so-called wallboxes for EV charging. The wallboxes are placed on the outer wall of the building and they are equipped with one or two AC sockets with a maximum electricity 32A and an output capacity of 22kW. You need your own power cable for charging.
These stations are designed for residential charging and they are part of the Metropolitan Network project. The project is aimed at supporting the development of a complementary network of charging stations that will support the development of electromobility and contribute to the objectives set out in the National Action Plan for Clean Mobility. The project will implement over 100 such as this charging stations located mainly in Prague.
This station currently does not yet have dedicated parking for EVs (no sign). The operator of these stations (PRE company) is not authorized under Czech law to establish dedicated parking. This deficiency will be gradually corrected in cooperation with the local government and the Police of the Czech Republic.
