William Fitzhugh served as a delegate for the Continental Congress, the House of Burgess and both houses of the Virginia General Assembly. He also was a farmer and legislator during the Revolutionary War.
Originally buried at Ravensworth, his remains and gravestone were moved after the mansion was destroyed.
