Diploma de Alfonso VI, coronado rey de Galicia en la catedral se Santiago de Compostela en el año 1111 y rey de León en el año 1126, donde concede a Mondoñedo el título de Ciudad y derecho a celebrar mercado el primer día de cada mes y una feria anual de ocho días.
" ...Celébrese allí un mercado el primer día de cada mes, y una feria de ocho días. Y quienquiera que impida el mercado o la feria será perseguido por mí y por mi hijo y por nuestra descendencia..."
Este documento es del año 1156 es el origen de las actuales FERIAS de AS SAN LUCAS
