Georg Benedikt von Ogilvy was the first owner of Zahorany Chateau.

Baron Ogilvy de Muirtown, (born March 19, 1651 in Scheltschitz in Moravia , † October 8, 1710 in Danzig ) was a Royal Polish and Electoral Saxon General Field Marshal of Scottish descent.

He joined in 1664 as a thirteen year old pikemen in the regiment of the Imperial General Leslie one, was then Gefreyt-Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant and Ensign, until he finally received its own company. In 1677 he became a colonel sergeant in the regiment of Prince Ludwig of Baden. After taking the position of trenchée major at the siege of Ofen for some time , he was appointed lieutenant colonel in 1683 and in 1689 commander of the Belgrade Fortress .

In 1691 he received his own regiment from Emperor Leopold I as colonel and the following year the rank of Real Imperial Chamberlain . In 1696, meanwhile General Field Sergeant, he became the commander of Tokaj . In 1702 he was ordered to join the Imperial and Imperial Army on the Rhine, where he took part in the siege of the city of Landau in the Palatinate under the general command of Emperor Joseph I. In the following year, 1703, he was appointed General-Feld-Marshal-Lieutenant and in this capacity was added to General-Feldmarschall Graf Traun.

He was married to Maria Anastasia von Zuckmantel zu Brumath († June 4, 1695). The couple's only son, Hermann Carl von Ogilvy, became his universal heir.
