This grave is the final resting place of Robert William (Bob) White and is located in All Saints churchyard in Lonan.
Bob was a craftsman and Master Builder it therefore fitting that at the base of the headstone at his grave are a wood plane, drill brace, wooden mallet and a tenon-saw.
The headstone is shared with Bob’s wife Elizabeth Emily (Betty) and the full epitaph is shown below:
“In Loving Memory Of
ROBERT WILLIAM (BOB] WHITE,
DIED 6TH NOVEMBER 1986, AGED 76 YEARS.
A CRAFTSMAN AND MASTER BUILDER.
A WONDERFUL HUSBAND AND FRIEND TO BETTY,
LOVING FATHER OF MICHAEL.
AND LOVING GRANDFATHER TO LISA. DAUGHTER-IN-LAW JEANETTE
“THE END AND THE REWARD FOR TOIL IS REST.”
ALSO ELIZABETH EMILY (BETTY) WHITE,
BELOVED WIFE, MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER.
AND MOTHER-IN-LAW OF THE ABOVE
DIED 28TH OCTOBER 1991, AGED 73 YEARS.
