Pass beneath this arch to enter Capron Park at the main entrance on County Street in Attleboro, Massachusetts. It was constructed in the late 1930's and is still in fine condition.

The symmetrical structure spans a two lane drive that runs mainly north into the park. A metalwork arch is attached to the inside surfaces of obelisks which abut the road's edges. Gilded "CAPRON PARK" letters are centered along the south side of this green-coated curved frame. Each obelisk is topped by a large, four-sided copper lamp with glass panes. Walls of stone block extend outward to the southwest and northeast from the lower third of the obelisks. Landscaping of neatly trimmed shrubs, flowering plants, and mature ornamental trees serve a soft and natural contrast along the walls.

Type: Gateway

Subtype: Municipal/Regional Entrance
