In the entrance area of the town hall in Mantova there are two plaques for victims of the Holocaust. The older one on the right is dated 5th April 2000 and says:
Here the names
of Jewish victims of Nazi ferocity
because the memory
incites to goodness
to human solidarity
[64 names in 2 columns]
This plaque was integrated in the wall. The other one on the left is a marble plaque, attached to the wall and a few years younger. It dates 27th January 2013 and says:
Further historical researches lengthen the first list
of the Jews of the Mantuan community
Innocent victims of departement and extermination
Sept. 1943 - Nov. 1944
[35 names in 2 columns]
Both plaques have a Star of David on top.
