Travelers are cheerfully greeted at the I-95 rest area with a multi-part structure on the west side of a round plaza near the north end of the parking lots. The "Florida Welcomes You" message is suspended across two tall obelisks at the Visitors Center in Yulee, two miles south of the Georgia border.
The dimensional sign consists of a gentle, gray-colored arc with the text centered and mounted to its front side. White lettering is against a blue background; a yellow sunburst takes the place of the "O" in the state's name. Those elements appear to be held up by a set of ten metal rods attached at decorative angles to the 15 foot tall obelisks. The columns are identical: tapering square in from with a stylized palm leaf design on their capitals.
