[EN] The Garden of Beaune-Semblançay is an island of serenity in the heart of the city of Tours, and which conceals small treasures.

Two majestic Renaissance facades are the remains of the largest of the Renaissance hotels in Tours. Jacques de Beaune, Lord of Semblançay, superintendent of finance to François I, had a sumptuous mansion built in the 16th century. It was largely destroyed during the bombardments of the last war. The remains have been classified as Historical Monuments since 1941.

In the center of the square, a fountain in Volvic stone built at the same time is adorned with the coat of arms of Beaune, as well as the arms of France and Brittany. Unfortunately, it was vandalized in 2012, and the city council decided in 2018 to move it to Place Châteauneuf. The fountain has been listed as a Historic Monument since 1886.

This set is enhanced by a romantic garden made up of fruit trees, flower beds and clipped boxwood.
